A Hempfield woman announced plans to run in the Republican primary in May for Westmoreland County prothonotary.
Kimberly Horrell, 52, a member of the national Republican Committee, is the second deputy in the county's Register of Wills Office. She previously worked as a U.S. Postmaster.
“I will make sure the office operates Marsbahis efficiently and provide outstanding service to the citizens of Westmoreland County,” Horrell said in a news release. “I will uphold this office with the utmost integrity, be fiscally responsible and connect with the community by engaging in outreach initiatives.”
Civil and family court records are filed in the prothonotary's office. Two-term Democratic incumbent Christina O'Brien announced she plans to seek re-election.
