SAN ANTONIO — Six children and a woman were injured Friday after the woman crashed her SUV into a day care center in Cibolo, according to the police department.
Police and emergency personnel responded at 10:42 a.m. Friday to the Choo Choo Xpress Child Care Center at 750 Schneider Drive, where they found a woman had crashed her Mercedes SUV into the front of the day care, according to the news release.

An “elderly” woman was driving the vehicle and she somehow pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake and plowed through the building, the news release said.
There were 40 children inside the day car during the crash, with six children being transported to local hospitals by Schertz EMS. One child was transported to University Hospital and the other five were transported to North Central Baptist Hospital.

The driver was transported to Northeast Methodist Hospital.
The rest of the children at the day care were released to their parents.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
