SAN ANTONIO — Police arrested a 30-year-old man Tuesday who allegedly shot a woman in the mouth earlier this week, according to court documents.
Johnny Joe Castillo is being charged with a second-degree felony of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $100,000.

Police responded to the shooting at about 10:40 p.m. Monday at the Capital Motel at 6602 S. Flores St., where they found a woman bleeding from her mouth. She told police “Johnny shot me,” according to his arrest affidavit.
She was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition.
The victim and Castillo had rented a room together, according to the affidavit.

If convicted, Castillo faces up to 20 years in prison.
