The suspect arrived home from work on Jan. 25 and was angry because his wife had not answered his phone calls that day and she had not made dinner, according to an arrest affidavit. After visiting with their children, the suspect walked to their detached garage in the 100 block of Gillette Street.

Minutes later his wife walked outside and smelled smoke. She opened the garage sliding door and saw Arredondo standing inside as smoke started coming out of the garage. She then walked back to the house to call 9-1-1, at which point Arredondo asked, “Are you going to call the police?” She said yes, the affidavit said.

The suspect then grabbed a garden hose and put out the fire Sultanbet before fleeing the scene, according to police.

Fire investigators determined the blaze was intentionally set and could have spread to the rest of the garage.

Arredondo is being held on a $15,000 bond.
