Police arrested a 21-year-old woman on Monday after she allegedly shot a woman while pistol-whipping another woman she was arguing with.

According to her arrest affidavit, Martinez and another woman were arguing around 7:20 a.m. on Jan. 21 in the 800 Retrobet block of Lexington Avenue in the city’s North Side.
Martinez had a handgun in her waistband at the time of the argument. The argument escalated, and the woman approached Martinez, who pulled out her gun and allegedly hit the woman over the head with it.

When she did so, she fired off a round that struck 33-year-old Amanda Louise Barth, who “was not involved in the altercation,” according to the arrest affidavit.
Barth was rushed to San Antonio Military Medical Center for treatment. She’s undergone several surgeries since being shot, according to the affidavit.
