As a massive storm pounds Southern California, the LAPD has shut down traffic through the Sepulveda Basin.
The LAPD announced the closure at around 1:40 p.m. via Twitter.
The basin, which is a natural flood control area, is closed until further notice, because increasing water levels are expected.
The basin encompasses the area bordered by Balboa, Victory and Sepulveda boulevards and the 134 Freeway.
