Ukiah police are seeking help finding the young men responsible for two separate Friday night assaults and robberies reported on Ukiah’s normally safe west side.
In one case, a sahabet woman reported she was pulled to the ground by her hair, assaulted and robbed by three white men in their early 20s as she walked near McPeak and Jones streets at about 9:30 p.m. They took her wallet and hat, police said.
In the second case, a man reported he was assaulted by a group of three “younger” men at about 7 p.m. near the Pomolita soccer field on Cypress Ave. The three men, one of whom brandished a handgun, punched and kicked him while making comments about a gang, the victim said. He was unclear on their descriptions, suggesting one may have been Hispanic, another African American.
Police ask anyone with information about the incidents to contact Detective Sgt. Crook at 463-6262.
