A collision involving a pickup truck and a car along Route 30 in Unity on Saturday sent two motorists to area hospitals, authorities said.

Both vehicles reportedly were headed west before the collision around 2:30 p.m. but ended up on opposite sides of the median, according to Marguerite Fire Chief Scot Graham. One motorist was transported to Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg and another was taken to Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville, he said. Details of their injuries were unavailable.

The wreck occurred near the Giannilli's II restaurant west of Village Drive. The left westbound lane of Route 30 and the right eastbound lane were closed to traffic for about an hour, Graham said.
