“We noted on our TWITTER account @WPDTX, that people aren’t the only ones who run from the police!” Read the posted that garnered 3.2 million views and more than 65,000 shares since Friday.

Since it's Friday we thought we would share a funny video from a call for service we responded to yesterday. We are very grateful that no one was injured during this incident, and we were certainly reminded why Weatherford is the "Cutting Horse Capital of the World." A very special thank you also goes out to the two cowboys that assisted us in resolving this matter. We noted on our TWITTER account @WPDTX, that people aren't the only ones who run from the police!

According to the post, the video was from an incident on Thursday, Police said they were “reminded why Weatherford is the ‘Cutting Horse Capital of the World.’ “

The police dash cam showed the cow trotting nonchalantly down the road before bolting as police cruisers draw near. Then out of nowhere a cowboy rides into view, riding like a bat out of hell, with rope in hand lassoing above his head as he tries to ride the cow down.

The chase is briefly obscured from view as the police cruiser navigates traffic, trying to catch up to the rider and errant cow, when a second cowboy then rides into view. Shortly thereafter one of the riders subdues the cow and the video ends.

The Weatherford police thanked the two cowboys who assisted them in “resolving this matter.”
