Warren Hills Varsity Cheerleaders made school history by placing third in their division at the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championships in Orlando, Fla., earlier this month. Held at the Wide World of Sports, this is the largest high school cheerleading competition in the country, which required qualifying meets at the regional level.
Once in Orlando, the Warren Hills cheerleaders competed against 21 other teams from all over the county in the semi-final round and then the top 12 teams moved on to the final round. Finishing in third place earned each athlete a bronze medal.
The Warren Hills JV team also competed and out of 25 teams in their division, they qualified for finals where they placed 11th. There is an International World Division to which JV also competed finishing third in that division.
