The latest winter storm is expected to dump up to four inches of rain by Saturday, with the heaviest rains arriving sometime before noon today, the National Weather Service said Thursday morning.
Weather officials have issued a high wind advisory for the entire Bay Area today. Winds from the south are expected to reach between 15 and 30 miles an hour, with gusts of up to 45 miles an hour.

Minor power outages have been reported in Santa Rosa, Jenner and Healdsburg.
The early stages of the storm took down a handful of trees throughout Sonoma County. Emergency crews reported one tree beginning to uproot and rupturing a gas main on Pine Ridge Drive in Santa Rosa.
The Sonoma County Office of Education is reporting two school closures this morning, at Guerneville School, Harmony Union in Occidental and Redwood Consortium Special Education Preschool in the Bennett Valley neighborhood of Santa Rosa
In the Guerneville area this morning, there was significantly less flooding and standing water than there was on Wednesday. The water levels of the Russian River are currently below flood stage.
The storm, which will develop into intermittent showers on Friday, will give way to a five-day break of dry weather. After that more rain is likely, said Steve Anderson, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service.
“It’ll be dry Saturday through about Wednesday,” he said. “It’s clean up and prepare for the next one and repeat.”
