EVESHAM TWP. — Township police are asking for the public’s help with locating a man who allegedly hid in a local church until night, stole cash and gift cards then caught a taxi cab to the Philadelphia International Airport.

It was around 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 13 when the man entered he St. Joan of Arc Parish, along Willowbend Road in Marlton. Authorities say the suspect, whose identity remains unclear, hid in a guest room on the second floor of the church when members of the parish live.

At approximately 11 p.m., the suspect then began “walking around the building stealing cash and gift cards from various rooms,” Evesham police said Tuesday, adding that they think the man then called for a taxi cab that took him to an area near the Philadelphia airport.

According to police, their suspect is a black male, described as stocky with a thin mustache and in his 40s.
