AKRON, Ohio – An Akron man is charged in an attack that left his father in critical condition.
Nathen D. Moynihan, 27, is charged with felonious assault in the Monday incident at a house on Harris Court near Vesper Street, police said.
The 47-year-old father suffered severe head injuries in the attack and remains in critical condition at Summa Akron City Hospital, police said.
Officers arrived at the house just after 1 a.m. and found the father on a couch. Moynihan left the house before officers arrived.
A witness said Moynihan attacked his father with a blunt object, police said. Investigators did not offer a motive for the attack.
Officers found Moynihan a short time later walking on East Exchange Street near Cleveland Street. He was arrested and taken to the Summit County Jail.
Moynihan’s arraignment is scheduled Tuesday in Akron Municipal Court, records show.
