The thefts date back more than a year: Wallets and purses stolen from unlocked cars and the credit cards they contained later used by the thief.

Now, authorities believe they have attached a face to the crimes.

Bethlehem Township police on Saturday released a surveillance photo of the man they believe to be responsible for the thefts starting in December 2015 both there and in Palmer Township.

The photo of the man was taken at an unspecified store Wednesday, police said. He was seen being picked up in a late-’90s model Cadillac that was either black or a dark blue or green.

Anyone with information on the man’s identity is asked to call Bethlehem Township Detective Scott Lipare at 610-814-6414 or slipare@bethlehemtwp.com.

Anonymous tips can be texted to to 888777 by writing TIP BETHLEHEMTWP followed by your message, or though the township’s Nixle system here.
