The Brooklyn man who allegedly pummeled his wife to death before slicing her up with a wooden saw and tossing her remains into a dumpster has been ordered held without bail.
Phillip Martin, 42, was arrested Friday after confessing to the grisly killing of his wife Diana Rodriguez-Martin, 43, cops said. He was arraigned later Friday night on charges of murder in the second degree and concealment of a human corpse.
Initially, Martin told cops his wife packed a bag, grabbed the dog and left their Linden Boulevard home around Jan. 16 and he hadn’t heard from her since, according to police sources.
But he later admitted he beat the woman to death with his bare hands before cutting her into pieces and sending them out with the trash, officials said.
Rodriguez-Martin’s aunt, Alba Reyes, said that she normally speaks or texts with her niece once a week and that she had not heard from her for seven weeks, according to a criminal complaint.
