NORTH GREENBUSH – East Greenbush remained under a water boil advisory Saturday after a water main ruptured on Glenmore Road near Route 4 Friday night.

Crews worked through the night and into  Saturday morning to fix the 36-inch main that broke and shot at least a quarter-million gallons of water more than 30 feet into the air. The 5-foot-diameter hole opened on the road’s edge, just south of Hudson Valley Community College, police said. The main serves East Greenbush and Rensselaer.

Glenmore Road should reopen sometime Saturday afternoon. Officials have asked residents to conserve water. Water that is used should be boiled for two minutes.
