A Chicago man wanted on kidnapping charges has been taken into custody by the Lake County Sheriff’s Warrants Division and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, authorities said.
Xavier J. Thomas was taken into custody Thursday without incident at a house on the 4100 block of Beech Street in Island Lake, authorities said.
During the arrest, members of the warrants team — including Deputy Dwight Arrowood and his canine partner, Duke — found crack cocaine in Thomas’ bedroom, police said.
Thomas, 25, faces kidnapping and aggravated domestic battery charges in Round Lake Beach.
Thomas was also wanted on a failure to appear arrest warrant for manufacturing and delivery of cocaine out of Antioch, authorities said.
A wanted 17-year-old was also located at the residence. The juvenile was taken to the Hulse Juvenile Detention Center in Vernon Hills.
Thomas was being held in Lake County jail and additionally charged with felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
He is next due in court March 8.
