A 26-year-old man was charged Saturday morning in a fatal Valentines Day shooting that killed a 2-year-old boy and his uncle, and wounded a pregnant woman in the Lawndale neighborhood.
Devon Swan was charged with first-degree murder for his role in the triple shooting that happened in the 2300 block of South Kenneth Avenue, police said.
Lavontay White Jr. was killed along with his 26-year-old uncle Lazaric Collins. A pregnant woman, who was Collins’ girlfriend, was shot in the abdomen area. The woman and her unborn child survived the attack, police said.
The shooting stemmed from a dispute between Collins and a group of individuals, and additional arrests are expected, according to Anthony Guglielmi, a Chicago police spokesman.
