The “tweeter in chief” on Friday released the name of a candidate to be his next national security adviser — after Michael Flynn resigned and the initial proposed successor turned down the job.
“General Keith Kellogg, who I have known for a long time, is very much in play for NSA — as are three others,” President Trump tweeted, without identifying the trio by name.
Kellogg, a retired Army lieutenant general, has been filling in for Flynn, who resigned after misleading Vice President Mike Pence about a December conversation with a Russian diplomat.
Trump then tried to tap retired Navy Vice Adm. Robert Harward, who turned him down citing family issues, according to the White House.
