Viki Odintcova is beautiful. And she’s nuts. Completely crazy.
There’s no other possible description of a model who willingly dangles off the top of a Dubai skyscraper for attention. The 22-year-old Russian woman posted images of the stunt on Instagram, where she has more than 3 million followers, and video on YouTube.
“I still can’t believe I did it,” she wrote.
Anyone who watches the video won’t believe she did it either. The death-defying stunt — in which her companion holds her right arm as she drops off the side of Dubai’s 73-story Cayan Tower — will make you pucker in every conceivable place, because your body naturally knows this is not something anyone should be doing, for any reason.
Many viewers were appalled that she would risk her life in such a way. “This video gave me so much anxiety,” wrote one commenter on the YouTube page.
The six-minute video — which shows Odintcova’s preparation as well as the execution of what appears to be a completely legitimate, special-effects-free stunt — gives the impression that she did it without permission, sneaking onto the tower’s roof. You can watch the video below.
You’d think Odintcova at least would earn kudos in her native Russia, where President Vladimir Putin fosters the myth of Russians’ unmatched courage. But even RT, Putin’s English-language propaganda arm, scolded her for being “reckless and immature.”
