Two brothers were killed in a fatal Bronx car crash early Friday when their vehicle careened off the highway and got stuck in a tree 10 feet off the ground, officials said.

The accident happened on the Bronx River Parkway near E. 233rd Street just after midnight, when their white Mercedes lost control and smashed through a guardrail, police said.

The car then went airborne and slammed into a tree that shredded the vehicle, leaving the wreck suspended approximately 10 feet off the ground with the brothers still trapped inside, cops said.

Rescuers worked to remove the car from the tree before freeing the the men, who were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was identified as 47-year-old Dayan Hunter. His brother, Dave Hunter, 44, was riding in the passenger’s seat at the time of the crash, according to police.

Investigators later determined the Mercedes was speeding when the driver lost control rounding a bend, officials said.

It’s not immediately clear if alcohol was involved.

The incident is still under investigation.
