A Celebration High student was accused of bringing an AR-15 rifle to the school’s campus and arrested Thursday, deputies said.

Gustavo Fernando Lozano-Silva, 18, faces a charge of possessing a firearm on school property. It is a third-degree felony.

Deputies got a report on Thursday that Lozano-Silva had posted a video on social media. The video showed him in the school’s parking lot with an AR-15 in the spare tire compartment of his trunk, Lt. Ryan Berry said.

Deputies came to the school and searched Lozano-Silva’s car, Berry said. They found the rifle, which was unloaded.

Lozano-Silva told deputies he wanted to take the rifle to a gun shop after school to get it cleaned, Berry said. But because the rifle was on school property, Lozano-Silva was arrested.

Deputies did not immediately say who the rifle belonged to.
