Boulder County fire crews extinguished a controlled burn that had gotten out of control north of Longmont today.
Boulder County Sheriff’s Division Chief Heidi Prentup said the fire reached about 5 acres in size and mostly burned in grass and a few trees.
Prentup said one structure was briefly threatened by the fire, but is no longer threatened.
“They’re mopping it up right now,” Prentup said at 12:20 p.m. Thursday.
Hygiene and Lyons fire responded to the fire.
