The head of the Friars Club says he has no idea why the iconic comedy hangout was raided by the feds this week, according to a letter to members obtained by The Post.

“At this point, we don’t know what the allegations are; we will certainly keep the membership apprised,” reads the letter from executive director Michael Gyure.

He added, “Just know that the club has done nothing wrong.”

Sources said a dozen or more US postal inspectors entered the club’s Midtown building Monday and hauled away “computers and boxes of files.”

The probe comes amid stories by Page Six and Showbiz411.com blogger Roger Friedman on the nonprofit organization’s large expenditures for charity events, such as a $1.6 million DC gala, while dispensing relatively meager charitable grants.
