A 15-year-old boy was among several people wounded Wednesday in separate shootings on the South and Southwest sides, police said.
The latest attack happened inside of a house near Pershing Road and Albany Avenue in the Brighton Park neighborhood.
Police reported officers and paramedics were called to the scene shortly before 3 p.m. for a call of multiple people shot. At least three ambulances were at the scene, and a person was seen being taken out on a stretcher.
An early report said at least four people were wounded at that location, but that has not been confirmed by police.
About 1:50 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot multiple times in the 7000 block of South Jeffery Boulevard in the South Shore neighborhood, police said.
Preliminary reports indicated the victim 27-year-old man was walking when he was approached by several people who opened fire in his direction. He suffered multiple wounds, and was taken in serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.
Late Wednesday morning, a 15-year-old boy was shot in the Englewood neighborhood. That attack happened shortly before 11:30 a.m. in the 5600 block of South Elizabeth Street, police said.
The boy told police an older man walked up to a porch where he was standing and shot him in the foot before fleeing.
The boy was taken to the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital where he was listed in fair condition, police said.
Police also said the evidence left after the shooting contradicts the boy’s story and they believe the wound was self inflicted.
No one is in custody and police are investigating.
