Even though Adele received some blowback on social media for her clean sweep at the Grammys — winning Album of the Year over Beyoncé’s critically acclaimed “Lemonade” — rapper Ice-T thinks the British singer’s wins were well-deserved.
“Adele is hard to beat because she is the business and she is good and she makes hit records,” the 58-year-old “Law & Order” star told The Post at the Pirelli Calendar exhibit at Cipriani Wall Street on Monday. “Beyoncé or [Adele] could’ve taken any of them . . . The fact that Adele was gracious to speak on Beyoncé’ made it fly.”
And besides, he says, Beyoncé “will be back next year. She’s still young.”
Meanwhile, Ice-T was proud of Chance the Rapper’s big win at the awards show Sunday, nabbing Best New Artist, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Album.
“I remember when the Grammys didn’t recognize rap, so for them to give him [awards] and televise it. . . I’m glad they’re recognizing new rappers like Chance,” he says.
