Check out the McDonald’s app for special deals from Feb. 20 to March 10. Burrito special: Miguel’s Jr. is offering 50 percent off any of its breakfast burritos from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. Monday through Friday, starting Monday. The limited-time deal is available at Miguel’s Jr. locations in Southern California except at Riverside Galleria. There are seven burritos on the breakfast menu. Limit one per customer.
Taco Brat: The recently closed Taco Jr. in Costa Mesa will be replaced by Taco Brat. The concept is the brainchild of Thomas Curren, who has spent a career working for a variety of venues from Aubergine to Pinkberry to Umami Burger. The menu will feature “haus-made” sausages, tacos, home- cured bacon and German and Mexican beers. The taqueria/sausage house will also have a beer garden. The restaurant is at 2101 Harbor Blvd.
Chili’s: The location at 17071 Beach Blvd., Huntington Beach, closed in late January. According to state employee public notice, the closure is permanent and impacts 46 employees. Brinker International, the parent company of Chili’s, did not provide a reason for the closure.
TGI Friday’s: A TGI Friday’s in Yorba Linda plans to close March 6, according to state filings. An employee answering the phone at the Savi Ranch center restaurant, 23040 Eastpark Drive, said its last day will be March 5. The restaurant employs 42 workers, according to the state employment filing. A restaurant spokesman said: “The decision to close the location was purely a business decision and we will offer the majority team members the opportunity to work at our other TGIF restaurants in the area.”
