Greenwich Village staple Murray’s Cheese was acquired by Kroger Co. of Cincinnati for $20.6 million. The deal includes Murray’s outlets on Bleecker Street and at Grand Central Terminal, plus its 350 locations inside Kroger supermarkets across 30 states.

City Councilman Jumaane Williams plans to enter the running for council speaker at the end of the year. The Brooklyn Democrat is the first council member to announce candidacy for the seat, which will become available after Melissa Mark-Viverito hits her term limit in December.
Snap mishap
Thinking that they were buying stock in the recently filed Snap Inc., the parent company of Snapchat, some investors mistakenly bought up shares in New York–based Snap Interactive. The share price of the mobile dating app company hit $11 on Wednesday, up from 12 cents in early January. On Friday the Snap Interactive stock tumbled down to $8.35 per share.

The Brooklyn Nets have sold a jersey patch sponsorship to Infor, a software company in Manhattan backed by Koch Industries. Infor will pay the Nets $8 million annually and provide the team with analytics and tech support.
