An armed robber swung a gun at his victim and demanded money early Monday morning in downtown Allentown, city police said.

Police said Larry Odom demanded the victim’s money a little after midnight in the 800 block of Hamilton Street, and then pulled the gun from his waistband and swung it at the victim.

The victim ran one way, and the 30-year-old Odom ran in the opposite direction, police said.

Officers were given a description of the robber, and an officer saw a man matching the description — later identified by the victim as Odom — about a block away from where the robbery took place, police said.

Odom, of the 700 block of Clay Street in Allentown, is charged with robbery and theft, and was sent to Lehigh County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
