An upper level ridge of high pressure that started building over the weekend continues to bring dry weather for the Portland area through Tuesday. The high Monday is forecast for 50 degrees.
With the high pressure, areas east of Portland and near the mouth of the Columbia River Gorge will see increasing wind speeds for Monday with gusts up to 45 mph.
Those out of the wind might have patchy fog for Monday and Tuesday morning. Some areas in Washington County and northern Clark County have started out Monday with temperatures below 32 degrees. Watch for isolated icy conditions in wind-sheltered areas.
Tuesday’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies as well with a high near 51. East winds should start to die down by Tuesday afternoon.
Clouds will build back in by Tuesday evening as the high pressure system moves east. Rain is in the forecast for late Tuesday night and into Wednesday. Wednesday looks very wet, but warm enough (50 degrees) to keep any threat of freezing precipitation out of the Portland metro area.
