CLEVELAND, Ohio – Happy Monday, Cleveland! Get ready for a pretty bitter morning commute. Winds on your way to work or school will stick around 20 mph, bringing wind chills into the teens. However, in the afternoon, the winds will die down a bit, so wind chills will rise to the 20s.

There’s a slight chance of light morning snow, but by early afternoon skies will change to just partly cloudy.

The How:

A cold front passing Sunday evening will continue to spark some early morning light snow showers, accumulating less than a half-inch. However, by early afternoon, a high pressure system will take its place, leading to just partly cloudy skies with very low snow chances.

High pressure causes sinking motion in the atmosphere, which leads to the air becoming very dry and stable. Since showers need moisture and instability to form, this is why precipitation chances are so low the rest of the day.
