Children playing with a lighter accidentally started a 25-acre blaze in Kissimmee that came within feet of homes and a school on Sunday, officials said.

The fire spread near Highlands Elementary School and caused residents of the Temple Grove subdivision to be evacuated, officials said.

Fire crews from Osceola County and Kissimmee were called about 4:30 p.m. to battle the brush fire.

A total of 25 acres burned before the fire was extinguished.

Stacie Miller, a police spokeswoman, said flames came within 15 feet of buildings but no structures were damaged.

No one was injured in the incident.

The children, along with their parents, are being required to attend a juvenile fire setters program.

No other details were immediately made available.
