Chance the Rapper won his first Grammy awards Sunday for best new artist and his rap performance of "No Problem" with 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne.

The 23-year-old Chicago rapper garnered seven Grammy nominations, which capped off a stellar year that included the release of his "Coloring Book" project and his one-day festival on the South Side in September.

"Glory be to God. I claim the victory in the name of the Lord," Chance said in accepting his award for best new artist. He acknowledged his mother, father, his on-again, off-again girlfriend Kirsten Corley, their 16-month-old daughter and Chicago.

Some of the awards, including the one for best rap performance, were given out Sunday afternoon before the main show, which began airing at 7 p.m. Sunday on CBS.

"I just want to say thank you to my team for being here. (Expletive) this is crazy. Thank God for this. Damn, I’m shaking, this is crazy. Thank you everybody for supporting me… I love my family, I love God and I love music. Thank you guys," Chance said after accepting the rap performance award, his first Grammy.

Chance was also nominated for rap/sung performance ("Ultralight Beam"); rap album ("Coloring Book"); and rap song for "Famous," "Ultralight Beam" and "No Problem."
