A UCLA cheerleader shook off two hard falls on Thursday night to return to the court for the Bruins’ men’s basketball team’s victory over the Oregon Ducks.
Sophie Lellis-Petrie fell from a cheer team pyramid and hit the basketball court hard on Thursday night at Pauley Pavilion during the second half of the Oregon-UCLA game. A man then picked her up to rush her off the court, only to slip and fall just past the baseline as both he and Lellis-Petrie fell to the court.

The UCLA Spirit Squad tweeted Thursday night that Lellis-Petrie was OK, and returned to the court to watch the Bruins pull off their 82-79 comeback victory over the Ducks.
Thx for all the well wishes, Sophie was evaluated by emergency medical staff and was back on the court for that amazing win!

For those interested, I reached out to UCLA for an update on the cheerleader. Medical staff report that she is “OK.”
