A 17-year-old boy was killed and two men were wounded Thursday in separate shootings across the city. 

Just after 9:05 p.m., the 17-year-old boy and someone else were in an alley in the 5300 block of West Foster Avenue in the Jefferson Park neighborhood when someone in a dark-colored sedan opened fire. 

The teen was shot in the abdomen, and he was taken to Lutheran General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Late Thursday, an officer searched between garbage bins in the alley, which was near the St. Cornelius School. An evidence marker was placed on the ground in the middle of the alley.

Earlier Thursday about 5:30 p.m., a 45-year-old man was shot in the 2400 block of West Adams Street in the Near West Side neighborhood. According to preliminary information, a 45-year-old man was exiting his vehicle when an unknown male approached and announced a robbery, fired shots and fled, said police. The victim was shot in the right leg, and he was taken to Stroger Hospital where his condition was stabilized.

About 1:35 p.m., a man was shot in the back and the ear on the South Side, police said. The 18-year-old was wounded in the 6800 block of South Harper Avenue in the Grand Crossing neighborhood, police said. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Fire Cmdr. Curtis Hudson and police said.

No one was in custody in any of the shootings.
