A man walking with his bicycle along a Lake County road died Thursday night after a hit-and-run crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The man, who hasn’t been identified, was walking near County Road 452 and Little Horse Drive about 6:45 p.m. when he was hit by two vehicles, FHP Sgt. Kim Montes said.

The first vehicle hit the man, then stopped. A second vehicle also hit him, but the driver kept going, Montes said.

Witnesses described the second vehicle as a “small red car” with a broken headlight, Montes said.

The intersection is in northern Lake County near the Ocala National Forest.
