Musical theater hits by composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, Latin music power couple Emilio and Gloria Estefan, and singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles will be coming to the Hollywood Pantages during the theater’s 2017-18 season, it was announced this morning.

Webber’s “Love Never Dies,” the sequel to “The Phantom of the Opera,” the biggest Broadway hit of all time, lands at the historic venue on April 3, 2018, for a run that extends over three weekends.

“On Your Feet!,” the crowd-pleasing musical that features several of Gloria Estefan’s iconic hits, including 1987’s “Rhythm is Gonna Get You,” is booked for July 6-29, 2018.

And Bareilles’ “Waitress,” which made headlines last year as Broadway’s first musical with an all-female creative team, runs Aug. 2-26, 2018. The show’s music is nominated in the best musical theater album category at the Grammy Awards on Sunday.

In addition to those stagings, also coming are the Los Angeles premiere engagements of “Disney’s Aladdin” (Jan. 10-March 31, 2018) and Lloyd Webber’s “School of Rock” (May 3-27, 2018), plus a new, fully re-imagined production of “The Color Purple” (May 29-June 17, 2018).

“This season promises to deliver the wonder of live theatrical magic every night,” said Jeff Loeb, general manager of the Hollywood Pantages.

Later this year, the theater will stage a pair of critically praised and multiple-Tony-winning hits, “The Book of Mormon,” May 30-July 9; and the Los Angeles premiere of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Hamilton,” Aug. 11-Dec. 30.

Here’s a show-by-show look at the Pantages’ 2018 productions announced today:

Disney’s Aladdin

Jan. 10-March 31, 2018: Directed and choreographed by Tony winner Casey Nicholaw (“The Book of Mormon”), the musical features hit songs from Disney’s 1992 animated film along with new material written by Oscar and Grammy winners Alan Menken (“Newsies”) and Howard Ashman (“Beauty and the Beast”).

Love Never Dies

April 3-22, 2018: Set in 1907, 10 years after the title character’s disappearance in “The Phantom of the Opera,” the story in “Love Never Dies” picks up in New York, where the Phantom has found a new home for his music as he still yearns for his one true love. After stagings in London, Australia, Japan and elsewhere, this tour marks the show’s U.S. debut. Simon Phillips (“Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical”) directs.

School of Rock

May 3-27, 2018: Based on the hit 2003 movie, this musical — about a wannabe rock star posing as a substitute teacher — features 14 new Lloyd Webber songs.

The Color Purple

May 29-June 17, 2018: The 2016 Tony winner for Best Musical Revival is an inspiring family saga that tells the story of a young woman in the American South who finds the strength to triumph over adversity and discover her voice.

On Your Feet! The Emilio & Gloria Estefan Musical

July 6-29, 2018: This jukebox musical follows the rise of a talented Cuban-American singer-songwriter and her husband and musical collaborator, Gloria and Emilio Estefan. Two-time Tony winner Jerry Mitchell (“Kinky Boots”) directs, with choreography by Sergio Trujillo (“Jersey Boys”) and a book by Oscar winner Alexander Dinelaris (“Birdman”).

Waitress

Aug. 2-26, 2018: A musical adaptation of the 2007 film starring Keri Russell, it’s the story of a pregnant, unhappily married server at a diner in the deep South who makes extraordinary pies. The show marks Bareilles’ debut as a Broadway composer, and it has been a top performer at New York’s Brooks Atkinson Theatre since opening in April.
