The child led restaurant employees on Friday morning to the vehicle where they found Michelle St. Pierre, 27, and the child’s mother, Brooke Lee Lavely, 31, both of South Middleton Township and both unconscious, pennlive.com reported.
Sawtara Township police told the news website that Lavely had a heroin bundle, a shoestring and a syringe between her legs. St. Pierre was shaken to her senses by an officer and Lavely woke up on her own, according to the report.
There were 17 packets of heroin in the car and St. Pierre allegedly had 3 grams of the drug in her pockets.
It wasn’t the first time the child had seen her mom do drugs, police told pennlive.com
Both women were arraigned before District Judge Michael J. Smith on charges of endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors, drug possession and DUI, according to court records. They were sent to prison in lieu of $250,000 bail.
