There’s a new Ikea location coming to town at 800 S. San Fernando Blvd., Burbank, and opening day is going to be a doozy. If you plan on going Wednesday, here are a few things you might want to take along.

Comfy shoes
Totaling 456,000 square feet, the new Burbank location has the most square footage of any Ikea in the United States. If you want to walk through every corner of the shop and gawk over each room display (because, honestly, that’s half the reason you visited) be sure to wear the sneakers this time and leave the dress shoes at home.
A list
There will be A LOT of home furnishings for sale, 10,000 items to be exact. A little guide of what you need might help to keep you from becoming overwhelmed at the amount of options. But hey, we won’t judge if one or 10 things that aren’t on your list land in your cart.
Time
Expect a line. A really, really long line. It also takes about an hour to walk through the store, and with a crowd, that could take longer. So make sure you have plenty of time and no other pressing plans for the day.
A cup of coffee
The shop opens at 8:30 a.m., but you might want to get there a few hours earlier. A cup of coffee (or five) will help keep your stamina up just in time for doors to open.
A good luck charm
You might want to bring that rabbit foot or four leaf clover to give you extra luck for a chance in winning one of the many giveaways that will be offered. I’ll just list them, because they are all pretty great.
• Food gift cards valued up to $250. The first 2,500 visitors will receive an envelope with a gift card. Think of the meatball possibilities!
• $1K Ikea gift cards. If you have an Ikea Family card, or sign up for one, you will be entered to win one of 10 gift cards valued at $1,000. That’s a lot of night stands.
• A Landskrona sofa. The first 26 customers will get a freakin’ sofa. I mean, how cool – or should I say comfy – is that?
• A POÄNG armchair. After the first 26 customers, the next 100 will get a free chair.
• Birthday gift card. If your birthday happens to land on Feb. 8, you get a $52 Ikea gift card. See, getting older ain’t so bad after all!
• Hearts for the kids. The first 200 kids aged 12 and under will receive a free Faming Hjarta heart cushion. Lovely!
