STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — Investigators recovered a car used by the suspects wanted in a fatal stabbing in Strongsville, but the suspects remain at large.

Timothy Bene, 32 and Courtney Heckman, 23, are charged with murder in the death of Bene’s stepfather Dean Vastartis to death.

Strongsville police responded to a domestic violence call about 1 p.m. Friday at a home on the 13500 block of Sprague Road, a news release from the department said. They found Vastartis, 50, with multiple stab wounds.

Vastartis died at Southwest General Health Center.

The duo drove off in Vastartis’s 2013 Mazda Protege, police said. Investigators found the car Monday.

Anyone with information about the duo’s whereabouts should call Strongsville police at 440-580-3230.
