MAYFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio – A Mayfield High School student will face discipline for bringing a bullet to the school, the school district said in a statement.

Classmates informed administrators after finding the bullet Monday morning in a boy’s locker room. The school’s resource officer searched the locker room but did not find a gun or any other weapon, the district said in its statement to parents and guardians.

School officials have determined there is no threat to students.

The student who brought the bullet to school has been identified and will be disciplined, the district said in its statement.

“I want to thank the students who brought this to our attention,” Mayfield High School Principal Jeffrey Legan said in the district’ statement. “We believe if you see something then you say something.”
