CLEVELAND, Ohio — The latest clip for the upcoming superhero movie “Logan” shows the title character in the role of the reluctant muscle.
Logan lurks in the background at the beginning of the one-minute clip, as a friend, “Mr. Marson,” confronts a team of men in cowboy and trucker hats over an easement he has over their property.
The group’s leader tells Mr. Marson and Logan to leave, but Logan stands firm, telling the group to get in their truck and drive off.
The leader refuses to back down, then cocks his shotgun and begins a count to three. But Logan takes the gun from him before he can finish and breaks the weapon in half.
Mr. Marson then pulls out a pistol and the group backs off as the clip fades to black.
Perhaps the most notable aspect of the recently released footage is Logan’s apparent reluctance.
When the group leader tells Logan he has a big mouth, the mutant hero replies, “I hear that a lot.”
“You probably hear this too,” the leader says, cocking his shotgun.
“More than I’d like,” Logan responds with a sigh that betrays an air of fatigue. He almost seems disinterested, as if he’s only there out of obligation.
Previously released footage revealed that Logan’s famous healing powers aren’t as potent as they were in previous films. While he once recovered from even the most serious injuries almost immediately, it now takes him time to recover from his wounds.
The hero even sports a few bruises and scars on his shoulders in the one-minute footage, although it’s unclear just how he suffered the injuries.
And he appears much older than he was in previous films, sporting wrinkles and gray hairs.
But as you can see in the short clip, the former X-Man can still handle variety thugs.
You can watch the clip below. (Warning: the footage contains harsh language)
Logan premieres March 3.
