Land of the free, home of the…drone?!

The Super Bowl halftime show opened with Lady GaGa singing “God Bless America” and “This Land Is Your Land” with some special guests — hundreds of dancing drones, which formed the shape of the American flag.

The 300 unmanned aerial vehicles, supplied by Intel, were GPS-controlled and fitted with advanced LED lights that first shined red and blue in the shape of the US — apparently illustrating the political divide in the country. They then came together to form the stars and stripes.

The “Shooting Star” drones also formed two Pepsi logos and the Intel symbol to close out the show.

While it appeared to be live, the mid-air performance was actually taped earlier this week, due to FAA regulations barring radio-controlled aircraft within 34.5 miles of Houston’s NRG Stadium during the Super Bowl.

Intel had to request special permission to film the segment, CNN reported.

The tech giant has used the Shooting Star drones — which are about a foot long square and weigh just over eight ounces — at events in the past. Their 4 billion color combinations make the devices great for light shows, with their most recent act taking place at Walt Disney World in Florida for their 2016 holiday season.
