VINELAND — Police arrested four men found with drugs and a loaded handgun, according to authorities.

The four men were parked at Asselta Acres Apartment Complex off Axtell Avenue at around 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 2. Vineland police were called to the complex due to reports of a suspicious vehicle with four people inside, police said.

According to police, the inside of the car smelled like marijuana and the officer saw the front seat passenger try and hide a box of bullets.

The officer called for backup and one of the passengers tried to get away through a window.

Police found a loaded handgun on the floor and drugs in the possession of the four men in the car.

Illya Tyshchenko, 18, of Axtell Avenue, in Vineland, was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of alprazolam, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was held in the Cumberland County Jail.

James Polishchuk, 18, of Ascher Road, in Vineland, was charged with possession of alprazolam and released on a summons.

Troy B. Bell, 19, of Howard Street, in Vineland, was charged with obstruction, possession of alprazolam, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was released on a summons.

Erick J. Colop-Torres, 20, of Oak Street, in Bridgeton, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of alprazolam. He was released on a summons.
