The Special Investigations Unit is investigating after a 34-year-old man fell from a fourth-floor balcony in North York on Saturday night.

In a statement released Sunday, the SIU said Toronto police were called to an apartment building on Weston Rd. around 10 p.m. Saturday.

The man fell from the balcony of a fourth-floor apartment shortly after the officers entered it, the SIU said.

He was taken to hospital, where he remains in serious but stable condition.

The SIU is a provincial agency that probes interactions between police and the public that result in death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
