A 15-year-old boy who was shot to death Friday was identified as Willie Woodus, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Woodus, who lived in the 11500 block of South Parnell Avenue, was wounded during a drive-by shooting about 5:10 p.m. in the 11400 block of South Stewart Avenue in the city’s Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side, police said. The shooting took place less than half a mile from where the boy lived.
The teen was walking when a gray-colored Pontiac pulled up and someone inside fired multiple times, police said.
Woodus was shot in the head, chest and abdomen. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 6:07 p.m., officials said.
