Florida Gators’ coach Jim McElwain’s staff is complete.

UF announced McElwain hired North Texas offensive line coach Brad Davis and USF secondary coach Corey Bell.

Bell’s hiring came moments after news broke Torrian Gray would leave UF after one season to join the Washington Redskins. Bell leaves USF after less than a month to join the Gators. Bell coached the past two seasons at Florida Atlantic University.

Bell has deep ties with UF’s current coaching staff. He was the University of Miami’s director of football operations from 2007-10 when current Gators’ defensive coordinator Randy Shannon was the Hurricanes’ head coach.

Bell was a starting cornerback at the University of South Carolina, where he played alongside current Gators’ defensive line coach Chris Rumph.

“Corey has played in the SEC and has deep roots in the state of Florida,” McElwain said in a statement from UF.

Three weeks after O-line coach Mike Summers left UF for Louisville after three seasons, Davis comes to UF after one season at North Texas. It was one of several stops as a coach following his playing days for Bob Stoops at Oklahoma.

Davis coached at East Carolina in 2015, and prior to that he served as co-offensive coordinator at James Madison. Davis spent the previous five years at Portland State (2009-13). The school is a member of the Big Sky Conference, where McElwain began his coaching career in the 1980s.

A native Baton Rouge, La., Davis played for Oklahoma’s 2000 National title team and another Big 12 champion. He was named team’s Most Valuable Offensive Lineman in 2002.

“Brad also has strong relationship in our recruiting areas and has won championships as a player,” McElwain said.

UF will open spring practice Feb. 28.
