JERSEY CITY — A 21-year-old Pennsylvania man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was stabbed in the chest near Dickinson High School yesterday afternoon, Jersey City police said.
Police were told that at around 4 p.m. yesterday the Bethlehem man arrived at his cousin’s house on Court House Place and told her he had been stabbed near Palisade and Newark avenues.
The victim’s mother then picked them up and drove them to the Jersey City Medical Center-RWJBarnabas Health.
When officers arrived at the hospital, they were told that the victim’s injuries were life-threatening and he was prepped for an immediate surgery.
An update in the man’s condition was not available today. A spokesman for Jersey City Medical Center could not be reached for comment.
Police investigating found no signs of the stabbing in the area of the high school or at the home of the victim’s cousin, police said.
