ALBANY – Albany police are searching for an SUV involved in a fatal are hit-and-run pedestrian crash that killed a 21-year-old woman early Saturday morning in Washington Park.
Police say they responded to a call around 4 a.m. to Washington Park Road near New Scotland Avenue for a report of a person hit by a vehicle. They found a female victim in the road who had been struck by what witnesses described as and SUV, which had fled the scene.
The victim was taken to Albany Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead. Her name has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The incident is under investigation. Washington Park Road between Willett Street and New Scotland Avenue has reopened.
