An NFL player is one of three victims targeted by a pair of women who deputies say tricked men, then drugged and robbed them in the Orlando area.
The string of incidents took place during Pro Bowl weekend. Authorities are looking for the two women, who were captured on surveillance footage.
“We don’t know if they were acting together or separately, but they were targeting men who were wearing expensive watches and jewelry,” Orange County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Jane Watrel said.
On Jan. 26, Tennessee Titans offensive lineman Quinton Spain and a few of his teammates went to Vyce Lounge in downtown Orlando, records show.
He told deputies he and his teammates were in town for Pro Bowl weekend. Spain did not play in the game at Camping World Stadium.
As they were leaving the club about 1:30 a.m. the next morning, Spain spotted a woman with long hair wearing leggings and a Chicago Bulls hat, according to an incident report.
He and his teammates decided to go to PlayHaus Nightclub downtown, and the woman tagged along, deputies said.
They stayed at the club until about 4:30 a.m., and Spain told deputies the woman “was very sexually aggressive and was hanging all over him,” an incident report said.
They went back to his hotel at SpringHill Suites on International Drive and started drinking Hennessy, authorities said.
After she made his second drink, all he could remember was the woman telling him to “take his clothes off” and them being in bed, an incident report states.
Spain woke up about 8 a.m. and the woman was gone; so was his gold Rolex watch and two gold chains, worth a total of $113,000, records show.
The incident mirrors a second ploy that also happened Jan. 27 when Wade Malcolm, who was in town for the PGA convention at the Orange County Convention Center, met a woman in his hotel bar, deputies said.
But deputies said a different woman was involved.
Malcolm met the 20-something woman, who was thin, blonde and had a Southern accent, on the patio of the Rocks Bar at the Hyatt Regency Orlando on International Drive, deputies said.
They went to his room and ordered champagne from room service, the Sheriff’s Office said.
That’s when the woman, who said her name was Cassandra, pulled out several small bottles of vodka, an incident report said.
The last thing Malcolm remembers was drinking the bottle, deputies said.
The next morning, he woke up about 11 a.m. and felt dizzy and sick. He realized he had missed his flight and started to gather his things when he noticed his Rolex watch was missing, an incident report said.
He also was missing a second watch along with his tablet, credit cards and $500 in cash, deputies said.
Deputies found a white powdery substance at the bottom of the bottle of vodka, which was still on his nightstand. The woman had several tattoos, including a teddy bear on her chest.
On Jan. 29, a third man reported he was drugged and robbed, also of a Rolex, after meeting a woman at a nightclub in downtown Orlando.
Li Tang said he had just left Tier nightclub and was walking when he met a woman, the same suspect accused of robbing Malcolm, deputies said.
He and the woman, who told him her name was Cathy, went to Casey’s on Central for drinks, then to his home near Universal Boulevard, an incident report said.
After finishing a mixed drink she made for him, Tang passed out, deputies said.
The next morning, his Rolex watch was missing. It’s valued at $10,000.
